CALLUM MCGREGOR has been impressed by what he has seen from Hatate, Maeda and Ideguchi in training. The captain has compared them to Kyogo, claiming they are also full of energy.

Speaking to Celtic TV, Callum McGregor said;

“Yeah, they look great. They are really technical players. They understand what the manager wants from them as well after him being over there as a coach as well.

“Full of energy, full of pressing, very similar to Kyogo in that sense. They’ll work really hard for the team and they have that quality to go along with it. So, the early signs are very good.”

Ange confirmed that Hatate would play in an attacking midfield role, his pressing will suit the manager’s desire for a high press. Turnbull and Rogic have tried to adapt to this role under the Austrian boss, but it is clear to see none of them has the legs for it.

The new signings featured in Celtic’s bounce match against St Mirren as they prepare for Monday’s fixture. With injuries in the squad, the players could be making their debut against Hibs, especially Maeda and Hatate.

It will be interesting to see what kind of role Ideguchi will play if he features on Monday. It has been said he plays a deeper role in the team which is normally occupied by Callum McGregor.
