One major talking point from the fan media press conference was Callum talking about Ange’s new backroom signing in Anton McElhone.
Anton has come in as the new head of Sports science at Lennoxtown. It’s a position of the utmost importance to Celtic because of the way Ange wants to play football.
If the team are to play high-intensity football on a regular basis, they need the balance right in training and someone who knows how to get the best out of individuals.
The lads at The Sellick, The Thunder asked the question about Anton and Callum gave us an insight into what he can bring:
“It was a position that we were looking for throughout the summer in terms of trying to recruit the best type of people that we could get in the building with good knowledge.
“Anton’s certainly got that. He’s been at Spurs – worked in America – and he’s come in and been a great personality. He’s just helping the good work that’s been done as well.
“There are a lot of good guys in the building that are desperate to do well and get the boys fit and hungry on the pitch.
“Anton’s certainly come in and helped on top of that with the ideas that he’s brought from Tottenham and America.”
Celtic still have a lot of restructuring to do around the club. There are key roles within the club that need to be looked at so we can modernise things.
You would hope Ange will have a big say on who comes in and what we need.
