Celtic captain Callum McGregor has given an honest reflection on the tension surrounding the club, admitting there is “a lot of disharmony” that has made life difficult on and off the pitch.
The midfielder, who has been at the heart of Celtic’s success for over a decade, spoke candidly about the challenges of maintaining standards when results and performances begin to dip. His comments offered a rare glimpse into the mood within the dressing room as the team tries to steady itself amid mounting pressure from all sides.
Celtic’s poor run of form and the recent fan protests aimed at the board have created an uneasy atmosphere at the club. McGregor acknowledged that the outside noise can affect players but insisted that hard work, togetherness, and focus on the pitch are the only ways to turn things around.

He said: (TCW), “I think there’s a lot of disharmony which can make it difficult for a club like this. It’s so used to winning and everything’s great, and you’re winning games, but again, I think from the outside it looks easy, and it’s not easy.
“The reason why we win so many games is that we work so hard. So, really, it’s a double-edged sword. When you come to this club, you have to sacrifice everything to be a success, and then you get to enjoy all the good days that have come over the last 15-16 years.
“It’s not easy, and I think periods like this just show that it’s not easy. If you come off the boil slightly, if you’re not quite there and that disharmony is there, then it can be a difficult place to play football. Our job in the changing room and in the building is to try and make the team as strong as it possibly can be, to then come out and perform on the pitch.
“I think if we get that bit right, then a lot of the noise will start to go away because any wee days like this that we’ve had have usually helped galvanise the group and make everybody fight a little bit more to show people.”
McGregor’s honesty shows the difficult situation Celtic find themselves in, a club battling for form while facing questions about direction, leadership, and unity. His reference to “disharmony” reflects not just on the players but the wider issues between the dressing room, board, and supporters.

Scales may not be Baresi but he’s been one of our best players this season.
No great accolade I know, but still…
Our problem is the lack of creativity from midfield which has nothing to do with Scales.
Over 75-80% possession is common, yet in so many matches, particularly this season, its possession for possession sake, the opposition keeper is rarely worked.
McGregor and Hatate are not good enough to be starting but unfortunately the likes of McCowan, Nygren, Barnardo & Engels are not any better.
A long hard season lies ahead, I just don’t see this set of players being good enough to lift silverware this season.

What’s gone wrong at Parkhead stems from the sale of Kyogo in January and not getting in a replacement. Then there was the devastating defeat in the Scottish Cup final and letting Greg Taylor to leave was a huge mistake! So who is to blame for all these problems/mistakes,the board or the manager? IMO both are – the board for not releasing the necessary funds for transfers and the manager for the way Celtic are playing, everything is slow and laboured, Celtic were always at their best when playing at a high tempo with slick passing and movement. The quicker they get back to that style the better for the club, although the recruitment wasn’t the best , they still have the players there to play the Celtic way! C’mon Celtic get the finger out!
