CALLUM MCGREGOR was posed questions from members of the Celtic Fan Media.
CeltsAreHere.com were in attendance as were many podcasts and sites from fan media.
Callum McGregor seems to have a great relationship with Ange Postecoglou and today he opened up on the significance of Celtic’s win against Aberdeen just before the International break.
The hoops were winning the game by a goal when Lewis Ferguson headed the Dons level, but a late winner from Jota sealed the three points. The game was viewed as a turning point in the season by many fans, especially with the run of form Celtic find themselves on.
In reply to a question about how special the team is, Callum had this to say;
“I’ve said it, there’s going to be bumps in the road along the way. And even when we’ve had the little bumps so far, I still see so much potential in this team.
“I see the boys working every day, I see what the manager’s trying to do, and I can sense a real togetherness.”
Moving on to reference the importance of the Aberdeen win and the mentality;
“I think the Aberdeen away victory, that really helped us in terms of a mentality setting, of going away from home.
“So many young players from different cultures all came together on that day, I think that was a real big step for us.
“Since then I can sense a mentality change where the boys are really going to motor now I think.” [CeltsAreHere on Youtube 4.20]
Only four points off top spot, Celtic could reflect on this game at the end of the season as a key match in their hunt to regain their title, but let’s not get too carried away.
Celtic face another tough away tomorrow, with their mentality to be further tested.
