Celtic captain – Callum McGregor has been tipped by his manager to make the difference in Sunday’s fixture against Aberdeen after returning from injury.

As quoted by Glasgow Live, Ange Postecoglou stated that the 28-year old would help the side bounce back from recent results in the last few weeks by not accepting any poor performances and setting the standards in this young Celtic side.

“Getting Cal back will help because he’s one that won’t accept what’s going on at the moment.

“But if you look at that starting line-up, there are a lot of guys who are just beginning their Celtic careers, and I think, having someone like Cal out there, making them understand what’s expected at this football club in terms of consistent performances and consistent results will help us on Sunday.”

In the past couple of weeks, McGregor has been missing from the Celtic side due to an injury issue which is the first time this will have happened in years.

McGregor famously has played almost every game in each of the last few campaigns, so the break from action might have done him the world of good.

What we did see in those few fixtures he missed out on was how crucial he is to this Celtic side. So, it was a massive boost to see the academy graduate make a swift return to the starting 11 on Thursday night.

Tomorrow afternoon’s game against Aberdeen is massive, and if we are to come away with the three points, McGregor will have played a crucial part in winning the midfield battle.
