CALLUM MCGREGOR sensationally returned from the sidelines to start for the hoops in the Glasgow Derby.
The Celtic player had been allowed to return to action, on the condition he wore a protective mask.
The captain revealed that he had broken his cheek in two places but he was determined to be fit for the derby match.
Talking to Sky Sports, the boss confirmed Callum’s situation was still being monitored and warned that it could change depending on how the player reacts.
“It’ll still probably need to be managed. A lot of it will depend on how Callum himself and how he feels. But he got through the other night really well. The whole group did.
“It was taxing physically, for sure. We put a lot of effort into that first 45 minutes. There were a few tired and sore bodies yesterday but today everyone trained
“We’ve got Tom Rogic available now and Nir Bitton is available after being suspended.”
🗣️"Our end goal was not to be in top spot in February. Being where we are means we've progressed, we've improved and we're a step closer to our ultimate goal…"

McGregor almost had to play on Wednesday night after Nir Bitton received his marching orders in the game prior. However, now available for the team now, it would be easier to give McGregor a rest and slot Bitton in the holding midfield role.
Tom Rogic is also available for selection again, adding to Postecoglou’s options in the middle of the Park. Not typically a holding midfielder, Ange may experiment and consider playing Hatate or O’Riley in a deeper position.
With options, McGregor is under no pressure to play through his horrific injury, although, I’m pretty sure he will.
