Celtic’s captain Callum McGregor looks set for a swift return to action, having been spotted in full training ahead of Wednesday night’s Scottish Premiership showdown against Dundee. The image is behind a paywall on the SNS Portal site, the company Celtic use exclusively for their photos.
McGregor sat out Sunday’s hard-fought win over Motherwell due to an abductor issue, but was back alongside his teammates at Lennoxtown, suggesting he’s on track to feature in this midweek fixture.

Carter-Vickers Continues Comeback
Meanwhile, Celtic fans will be pleased to see Cameron Carter-Vickers back in the mix. The defender made a late cameo at Fir Park on Sunday, coming on for the final 22 minutes in place of Liam Scales. Carter-Vickers has been sidelined with a toe injury but now looks ready to push for a starting spot, adding depth to a backline that’s been kept solid in his absence by Liam Scales and summer signing Auston Trusty.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers shared an optimistic update on McGregor’s status with Celtic TV, revealing the midfielder’s minor setback may actually prove beneficial in the long run. “With Callum, we’re just waiting to hear back but we think that’s good news with him,” Rodgers said. “It won’t do Callum any harm to miss a game as he is so consistent and committed. You know that when it’s a niggle with him, it has to be quite sore for him to not be involved.”

Rodgers added that the workload in the Champions League has tested McGregor’s endurance, hinting that the skipper’s absence may have simply been a result of fatigue. “You see his numbers; he has covered the most distance in the Champions League. We are hopeful he could be involved on Wednesday, and if not, definitely Saturday.”
Aiming to Extend Domestic Momentum
With McGregor and Carter-Vickers both likely available either Wednesday or at the weekend, Celtic appear well-positioned as they prepare to welcome Dundee to Parkhead. The champions are keen to extend their unbeaten streak and keep up their strong title defence. After the Wednesday tie Celtic have a massive semi-final against Aberdeen and then a home tie against Leipzig at home in the Champions League.
