Callum Osmand has shared a photo as he begins his recovery from the hamstring injury that cruelly cut short what had been a dream fortnight for the young Celtic striker.
Just days earlier, Osmand was living every player’s dream.
Scoring in a Glasgow Derby semi-final at Hampden, celebrating in front of the Celtic end and announcing himself as a real first-team contender under Martin O’Neill.
But against Midtjylland, the teenager’s high turned to heartbreak as he collapsed in agony, reduced to tears before being stretchered from the pitch.

It was later confirmed he had suffered a serious hamstring injury requiring surgery, and Osmand has now shared the first glimpse of his road back: a snap of him on crutches, leg in a full brace, but smiling despite the tough months ahead.

It’s expected to be a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and Celtic will take no risks with the 19-year-old’s rehabilitation. The hope is that his recovery goes smoothly and that he can return before the end of the season, ready to impress the club’s new permanent manager, whoever that may be.
The company assisting with his rehab too to Instagram to write: “It’s our pleasure to have Celtic’s striker, Callum Osmand visit us for his post-surgery healing.
“Following his recent hamstring tear, Callum sought out tools for an accelerated return to the pitch. We are able to provide him with Glasgow’s only medical-grade pressure Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
“The profound benefits of increased oxygen saturation is a game-changer for athletes. This treatment provides them with the cellular energy to potentially heal up to 75% quicker than standard recovery protocols.
“We are committed to supporting @callum.osmand any way we can and look forward to seeing him back on the pitch.”
Osmand had been one of the bright sparks since O’Neill’s arrival, grabbing his chance and energising the squad at a time when injuries have piled up.
Now, everyone at Celtic will be wishing him a straightforward recovery and a swift return to the pitch where he made such an explosive first impression.
There are a few hamstring injuries at Celtic at the moment. Fellow striker Iheanacho is out with one, while Marcelo Saracchi and Alistair Johnston are both out. Colby Donovan was stretchered off for the Scotland Under-21s.
