Celtic fans are looking for any hint or tip off that they could be set to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The trail has gone cold since The Record claimed an ‘exclusive’ on the defender. The report suggested Celtic and CCV had agreed on personal terms with the club needing to iron out the terms of the transfer with Spurs.

Nothing has come out since, officially or unofficially, but Celtic fans believe the club still tweeting about the defender away on international duty as some sort of proof he could be sticking around.

Is there method in this madness?

Well, there has been a precedent set by Celtic on the other side of the fence when it comes to this theory. Last summer, when Jack Hendry was still technically a Celtic player, the multimedia team excluded him from the graphic of Scotland international call-ups — the hierarchy at the club clearly conveying to the media team he would be moving on — which Jack did.

Technically loan bhoys finish their deals at the end of June — this is to counteract against any kind of fixtures that go long or a cup final after the final day of any given season. We believe CCV is still under contract as a loan Celt until the end of this month.

Ultimately, it doesn’t tell us too much but it is a positive Celtic are posting about the American international.
