If Celtic want to land Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal the club will have to shell out the best part of £10m according to RecordSport.

The bhoys have a first option clause in the American international’s loan deal with Spurts. Some speculated it was just a small fee Celtic would have to pay, but that’s not the case.

We speculated it would be around £5m and despite reputable sites saying CCVs deal ends this summer – Spurs triggered a clause to extend his deal so they could benefit from a fee.

The defender has slotted right into the team and played extremely well.

Both he and Jota are loan signings who the fans would like to see sign permanently.

Jota’s buyout fee is around £6.5m which means to land both of the players – it’ll cost Celtic around £16.5m.

I just don’t see the board green lighting both – especially when we will look to bring in new faces at the end of the season.

  1. It’s only a lot of money because CCV doesn’t fit our model of buy cheap and young, and then sell on.
In EPL terms that IS cheap.
If we signed him, had him for 3 or 4 seasons and sold him on even at a few million less, then that’s still good business.
And finally – I can’t think about a CB in the last few years who slotted in so easily. None. Not since VVD.
    I’d still sign him.
