Celtic fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Cameron Carter-Vickers is expected to be fit for the match against Hearts after the international break.
The American defender was seen wearing a moon boot as he left the stadium after Celtic’s 3-0 win over Rangers.
However, SunSport reports that the use of the moon boot was largely precautionary.
Carter-Vickers sustained a minor knock to his left foot in a previous match against St Mirren but has continued to participate in training sessions. Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers even gave him a break from training last Friday to ensure his availability for the Glasgow Derby.
Extra Recovery Time for CCV Ahead of Important Run
Carter-Vickers has been omitted from the USA national team for this international break, which will give him some extra recovery time as he looks to get himself fit for Celtic’s next run of games.
Celtic have got a busy run of games after the international break.
They continue with league duty, with the League Cup back for one weekend. The Champions League also kicks off with a home match against Bratislava on Wednesday 18th September. Celtic then travel to Dortmund and Atlanta, meaning that for the foreseeable future, the Hoops will be playing twice a week most weeks.
Having players like CCV fit and available is going to be crucial.
