Breaking news on Tuesday evening claims Celtic star Cameron Carter-Vickers is playing through the pain barrier for Celtic and has been since before the last international break. [RecordSport]

The USA international has been struggling with a knee injury as of late but has played on during a vital part of Celtic’s season, but he’s being managed very carefully.

It’s the reason why the defender was left out the squad altogether against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. Playing on the plastic surface would have been a massive risk for the defender and the Celtic manager.

The report claims Cameron WILL undergo knee surgery BUT not before the Glasgow Derby Scottish Cup semi final at Hampden.

The Celtic Physio team will then assess the situation and make the fall whether Cameron can see out the season before going under the knife or if he should start the process before the season ends to be fresh for next season.

The bhoys are twelve points clear at the top of the table and are closing in on two in a row. If CCV does go out after the semi-final, Kobayashi will come straight into the fold and could play at Ibrox in the final Glasgow Derby of the season.
