CARL STARFELT has indirectly given fans an injury update, posting himself training in the sun.

The Swedish defender was stretched off while representing his country in the Nations League ties that have just ended, leaving many Celtic supporters worried that he may miss the start of the season.

Posting on his Instagram story, Carl Starfelt showed himself training on the beach, doing some work with the ball.

It’s a positive sign, mainly because it was a hamstring injury he pulled up with. Seeing him move like that suggests that the damage wasn’t too severe and he should be back for Celtic’s opening match against Aberdeen.

He’s also in his Celtic gear, which is nice to see.

The defender built a great relationship with Cameron Carter-Vickers at the back last season, and the announcement of his permanent deal will undoubtedly come as a boost to the Swedish international.

The defensive duo helped maintain the best defensive record in the league last season, and will be looking to replicate this form on Europe’s main stage.
