Carl Starfelt was officially announced as a Celtic player on Wednesday. The Swede completed his move to Celtic from Rubin Kazan subject to international clearance.

CeltsAreHere has been told by a well placed source the player has been in London since the weekend. Coming in from Russia, Carl must isolate before being allowed to begin his Celtic career.

Celtic are taking the same tact as they did when Ange came into the country from Japan. Putting the manager up in London where he could isolate for a little less time than he would have to in Scotland.

Carl would have been ineligible for the Midtjylland tie next week, but because Celtic have got the defender into the country promptly, there’s every chance he could play against Hearts on the first day of the new campaign.

That’s if Carl gets his international clearance before then.

Ange Postecoglou would then have to make a judgement call if the player was ready to start for the Hoops.
