CARL STARFELT has yet to feature this season after suffering an injury in pre-season. He returned to the bench last Saturday when Celtic faced Ross County, but didn’t complete his injury return.

The Celtic manager has confirmed that Carl Starfelt is doing well and is nearing his return to the game. However, the Australian warned that Celtic fans it’ll be unlikely to see any injury returns this weekend, given the surface Celtic will play on.

As quoted by The Herald, the Celtic boss provided Celtic fans with an update, stating;

“Carl is a bit further down the road so I’ll make the decision [on Saturday]. All of these guys coming back from injury, it might not be the best week to introduce them.”

Ange Postecoglou’s Selection Headache

After a brilliant debut from Jenz, it will be hard to justify dropping the player, but the same goes for Stephen Welsh, who’s started the season strongly.

The young Scottish Defender missed Celtic’s trip to the highlands last weekend due to illness but should be available for Sunday.

The manager will be grateful to be in this position after struggling with the lack of squad depth last season.

  1. A Selection Headache is a good thing at a football club we can give more players game time nowadays as we can bring on 5 subs in a game it is great to have players champing at the bit wanting on the pitch to show what they can do even if it may be 20 mins some games….
    The game on Sunday is going be a hard game so we must be men Suppress and Dominate and Punish,Stick together and back each other up play hard but fair do it Celtic do it…
