CARLO ANCELOTTI was asked about Celtic’s new loan bhoy Jonjoe Kenny and his future at Everton beyond the summer.

Jonjoe made his debut for Celtic against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Tuesday night and helped the bhoys to a 4-0 victory.

The defender added some much needed balance to our defence and looked like a more natural right-back than Jeremie Frimpong. There’s no clamour for a permanent deal after one game but it’s good to gauge what Everton are thinking down the line.

For Carlo, he believes Jonjoe could still have a future at the club but didn’t commit to anything past the summer. Right now, he wants to see the defender get some real game time and go from there.

“Yes. He is our player from the Academy. He had experience in Schalke, where he did really well.” Ancelotti told SunSport.

“He came back and he did not find the space or the opportunities to play a lot”

“And so, we decided to give him the opportunity to play for six months to see what happens and he will be back in the summer.”

Ajer being allowed to move back to centre-back and Welsh coming in for Duffy was the foundation we built our victory on at Rugby Park. Hopefully there’s more to come.

Jonjoe will enter the final 12 months of his contract come the summer, and if there is interest in keeping the player beyond the summer, there always is a chance of a deal.

  1. One swallow and a reshuffle, against a fellow struggler, does not a team make. Back to the tactics board. If Celtic can remain winners until the end of the season
All player worth increases. See who goes for free (Neil) , see how many get sold. See how many don’t want to leave, and are sold anyway.
As that is the Celtic way.
