ANGE POSTECOGLOU has cleared up why both CCV and Josip Juranovic haven’t mate the St Mirren squad.

Both players were missing entirely from Sunday’s squad to face St Mirren after the manager claimed everyone had come through unscathed from Wednesday.

CCV pulled up a bit sore on Friday and Angeg didn’t want to take a chance with the American defender. In the case of Juranovic, the Celtic manager believes the Croatian has played a lot of football and wanted to test him.

“Cameron pulled up a bit sore the other day.

Josip has played a lot of football – Tony is ready to go.” Ange told SkySports Live on air.

The international break kicks in after the St Mirren game. Both players likely to head out with their respective countries. Ange’s demeanour suggested the CCV injury isn’t a big deal.

CCV rarely misses a Celtic game, it’s strange to not see him in the starting XI. Jenz and Welsh are both in for CCV and Starfelt who are Ange’s preferred centre back pairing.

Ange had the depth of squad where he can ring in the changes and still put out a very strong side. It’s what the Australian has been aiming for since he joined the club.
