Celtic defeated Rangers by three goals to two this afternoon as Ange Postecoglou’s men moved a colossal 12 points clear at the top of the table.

Kyogo’s brace and Jota’s greatly accurate finish was enough for the Bhoys however as is always the case in a derby, the man in the middle had to make some big calls.

Kevin Clancy was no different today with the Scot having to make quite a few significant decisions, the first of which coming early in the first half.

Borna Barisic delivered from a corner and Alfredo Morelos tapped home however Clancy blew for a foul from the Colombian.

Despite controversy, Celtic right back Alistair Johnston has praised the referee’s decision (Sky Sports via Football Scotland):

“As soon as it had gone in the back of the net, glad the referee made the right call.”

It was Johnston himself who was fouled. Only the right back knows the extent to which he was shoved.

After this, he went on to talk about the significant gap between Celtic and Rangers and how the Bhoys just need to focus on themselves:

“We don’t focus on the table, we know if we do that no one can touch us.”

Johnston was also given Man of the Match this afternoon in a wonderful derby day.
