It’s being claimed this afternoon that Celtic and Yokohama Marino’s have come to an agreement over a compensation package for Ange Postecoglou.

Celtic have been heavily linked with a move for the Australian coach currently based in Japan but the club themselves have been quiet.

Freelance journalist Peter O’Rourke claims that another obstacle has been overcome in Celtic’s pursuit of the manager.

Since the Eddie Howe deal fell apart, most of the journalists who usually get the scoop from Celtic board members and executives are all singing from the same hymn sheet when it comes to Ange Postecoglou.

It’s been quite the week for Celtic after Howe embarrassed the club and majority shareholder Dermot Desmond.

Ange’s appointment has a few more hurdles to go with UEFA currently mulling over an exemption appeal to allow the manager to work in UEFA competitions as the Celtic boss. We also have the small matter of isolation periods in the UK for people coming from Japan.

Time is of the essence.
