Following on from the international break, Celtic’s first away trip in the league will be to McDiarmid Park to take on St Johnstone with a 12.30 kick-off on Saturday 8 October.

It’s been a long time since Celtic supporters visited Perth with Hoops fans last being permitted to attend a game at McDiarmid Park at the beginning of March 2020.

That victory booked Celtic’s place in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup before football was eventually shut down a few weeks later. It was a crucial win on the way to securing a historic Quadruple Treble.

Ange Postecoglou’s side last visited McDiarmid Park on Boxing Day last year with a depleted team that even saw goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas be given a start.

It was to be the last game before the winter break was moved forward due to restrictions once again being placed on crowds due to Covid.

Today it has been confirmed that Celtic will receive an allocation of 4,505 for the match at the beginning of October.

Both stands behind the goals will be occupied by Celtic fans as Ange Postecoglou’s team look to get back to winning ways on the road.

The match is wedged between two difficult fixtures against RB Leipzig meaning that the team could be slightly altered as many think that these two ties will decided Celtic’s fate in the group.
