We knew late last night Jonny Hayes was leaving the club but we had no idea Jozo Simunovic was also on the way out.

The club have confirmed the shock departure of the Croatian who ends a five-year spell at the club.

His spell at Celtic was hampered by injury but Jozo did have his moments.

The iconic tackle on Kenny Miller during the 5-1 drubbing was a particular highlight. Not to mention his goal against Kilmarnock after 67 mins wearing the No5 shirt on a day of Billy McNeill tributes.

As far as we were led to believe, the defender was only just now come into the final 12 months of his contract but he’s gone in a free.

Celtic have no water anytime in moving people on since the league was called. The club are being ruthless ahead of the ten in a row season and maybe a sign they’re cutting their cloth to make sure they trim the fat off the wage bill. Who’s going to be next?
