CELTIC have announced their reserves have travelled down south to take on Huddersfield on Tuesday afternoon. Weeks after the team played against Chelsea’s under 23’s at the London club’s academy.

The bhoys beat Chelsea on the day and now they’ll test themselves against Huddersfield’s developmental side.

These fixtures look like they’re going to become a regular occurrence with the developmental side starved of any fixture list.

While it’s great that Celtic can go down and get experience playing against these clubs, there’s no substitute for meaningful games and right now these are just closed-door frendlies.

Nonetheless, it will give us another opportunity to see how the young star’s get on. They won’t be able to call upon Lee O’Connor or Jonathan Afolabi with both being sent out on loan last week to the Scottish Championship.

It will be interesting to see how the side gets on and if Karamoko Dembele makes the squad after playing a small role against Ross County on Saturday.
