CELTIC have tonight announced they have locked down one of their top academy talents until 2020 after they signed Owen Moffat to a new deal.

The player had only signed a new deal back in June but he’s shown enough in the past few months to grab a long term contract with the club.

The midfielder has been at the club for the past 12 years, coming through the ranks at Lennoxtown.

It will now be interesting to see what happens next with Owen. He needs first team exposure and he isn’t going to get it at Celtic right now. A loan deal in January could certainly be the best for all parties.

Celtic tend to lockdown players before sending them out on loan and it could be the case with Moffat.

The club have been struggling to keep the youngsters going during the pandemic era. There’s not much football to be played and they train more than anything. Going out to a loan club and getting real experience is a must.

In the last few minutes, Celtic have announced another three-year deal, this time for Ewan Otoo who signs on with the club.

Congratulations to Ewan.
