Celtic have announced that there will be a deadline for Hoops fans looking to purchase tickets for next Tuesday’s Europa League tie against Ferencvaros.

In a statement released on the club’s website, supporters will have up until Monday at 5 PM to buy tickets, with no sale of tickets on the day at the ticket office.

“Owing to the introduction of the vaccine status certificate checks, we have had to suspend all ticket sales on the day of the match for the Ferencvarosi TC fixture for operational reasons to ensure the smooth implementation of these checks.”

This is due to the introduction of the government’s new vaccine passport checks, which will officially come into place from Monday, with Celtic’s fixture against Ferencvaros being the first game that fans will be expected to provide proof of vaccination.

The club also stated that this was only a temporary measure that had been put in place for Tuesday’s game.

It will undoubtedly be a bizarre afternoon on Tuesday with vaccine checks being used for the first time at Celtic Park, but also when you add in the fact we play a European tie at the unusual time of 3:30 PM.
