Sky Sports are reporting Celtic have made initial contact with Preston midfielder Ben Pearson with a view to signing him on a pre/contract.
Ben is in the final six months of his deal and is free to talk to any interested clubs about a summer move.
The player came through the ranks at Old Trafford but landed at Preston in 2015.
Celtic can wait until the summer for a central midfielder because they have enough in that position right now. There’s likely to be a big reset at the club come the end of this season and plans have been drawn.
It’s unclear how serious the interest is but Sky Sports man, Anthony Joseph has confirmed the club have made initial contact to have a conversation about a potential move.
Now, more than ever, Celtic need to be savvy in the pre-contract market but must be careful they don’t stockpile average players.
