The news Celtic could be heading for record turnover by the end of the season is something that shouldn’t be passed off as anything other than an incredible moment for the club. [Read More Here]

Where we’ve come from to where we are, is simply sensational.

Many people reading this will not know Celtic as a struggling entity or a club on its knees, but we once were. Eight minutes from our doors being closed by the same bank that helped David Murray’s Ibrox project hit the heights. While it was happening, it was lapped up by so many people in the media who wanted their pound of flesh.

No more so than Jim Traynor, a prominent Scottish journalist at the time who would go on to be a bizarre spin doctor for the Ibrox club in his latter days in the game.

We unearthed a powerful clip from Jim speaking back in the 90s when he described Celtic’s freefall into ‘a mediocrity of which they might NEVER recover.’

If you want a definition of wishful thinking, this clip should be plastered to the phrase.

Under Fergus McCann, Celtic would rebuild their stadium and become the top club in Scottish football once again. Contrary to delusional opinions by entitled fans across the city, they are not the premier club in Scottish football and haven’t been since David Murray’s project burned to the ground, built on a flimsy foundation.

Celtic Football Club continues to grow from strength to strength as a business, while Jim’s favoured team cling to the green and white coattails of a club they claim to despise.

Don’t believe us? Just look back to last season with the orgy of ‘Old Firm’ banners at a game between the two clubs at Ibrox.

We now have regular soundbites from an Ibrox manager claiming they can beat Celtic on a budget, and it’s lucky for Celtic to have the cash to spend on players. Instead of Rangers fans being up in arms questioning why they can’t financially compete with Celtic, they seem to swallow the lines from Micky Beale. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
