Southampton are part of a host of club who are expressing an interested for Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer.

This comes after speculation that the Norwegian defender’s representatives have asked the club for a valuation that would see him allowed to leave the Hoops.

As well as the Saints, several other Premier League clubs also looked to be interested in Ajer, including the likes of West Ham and West Brom, according to the Express

It is thought down south that the valuation for the defender is around the £20 million mark.

I don’t think it would come as a surprise to see Ajer leave this window. There has been on-going speculation for months, surrounding his future.

Southampton have also had success buying players from the Scottish Champions in the past, with Fraser Forster, Victor Wanyama and Virgil Van Dijk all moving down south to St Mary’s after leaving the club.

Ajer joined the club back in 2016 as a teenager. He had a loan spell at fellow SPFL side Kilmarnock, before eventually becoming a mainstay at the back for both Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon

  1. 20 million wow! Take it as his agent will push to get him out and if his head isn’t right then with all the speculation he might be an accident waiting to happen. HAIL HAIL.

  2. No Sav, he is much better, have seen him playing fotmr his national SIDE? Celtic don’t need an excuse to sell anybody. Every Hoops player wanting out will be welcome with a price on his head. Even though most Hoops fans have a target on Pete Lawells.
