Celtic have beaten Liverpool and Everton to the signature of a 13-year-old goalkeeper Joshua Rae, only days after he made his debut for Hamilton Under-20s.

With so much interest in the towering youngster Accies  director Allan Maitland told the media that his family has decided the bhoys immediate future lies with Celtic.

He was disappointed but understood the youngsters decision.

“I am disappointed to lose another player, but I recognise that, as a Celtic supporter, when Celtic come calling, it is hard to resist,” said Maitland

“Celtic have been very professional, have handled it in the right manner and the compensation will be slightly more than what would have been due had he left at the end of the season,” he said.

He was due to have a second trial spell with Liverpool but he will now sign for Celtic next week.

Safe to say this is one for the future, unless it’s a massive vote of no confidence to Lukasz Zaluska.
