CELTIC have wasted no time in starting ‘phase 2’ of Brendan Rodgers request to upgrade the Celtic Park pitch.

The groundwork began last year around this time but because of time constraints, Celtic had to hold off putting the new hybrid surface down until this summer, giving it plenty of time to bed in.

Groundsman Robin Buchanan gave Celtic fans a glimpse of what’s going on this morning as the work begins.

This was something Brendan Rodgers requested early on from his board and they have backed their manager as he looks to have a surface that will be conducive to good football.

This isn’t the only upgrade plans for Celtic Park – a new lighting and sound system are set to be installed as well as the club look to push on and become one of Europe’s elite stadiums.

The outside of Celtic Park continues to change for the better, the Celtic way looked fantastic on Saturday as the fans and players celebrated a double treble.

With a hotel and museum in the works too, Celtic Park is going to be the destination in Glasgow for football fans.
