Neil Lennon spoke to CelticTV ahead of this weekend’s game against Dunfermline and addressed questions about Celtic’s disappointing defeat against Cluj on Tuesday night.
The manager has come in for some heavy criticism with regards to his squad selection on the night. However, today, Lenny came out swinging and declared his team selection didn’t have a great bearing on the defeat.
The Celtic manager believes it was working and they were flying high at 2-1 – vindicating his choices on the night.
To be fair to Neil, the side may have been puzzling but it did get the team in front. The biggest issue for me, is when we got in front at 3-2 and he didn’t change it to make sure we slowed the game down. It was frantic and Neil’s decision’s on the night had a huge bearing on the end result.
The comment below will not go down well with the fans who have been openly hurting and angry since Tuesday night.
Lennon is trying to con the fans, his team selection on the night was attrocious and he knows it. Everytime Celtic went ahead in the game his defensive setup leaked another goal to the opposition, eventually leading to more goals lost at the back than scored up front. It was his setup and he should be sacked for his amateur tactics. Absolutely incredible that he now tries to make out his leaving £10 million worth of defenders on the bench wasn’t to blame for Celtic’s loss against Cluj. Unbelieveable!
Any one who thinks Cluj are not a good team are dreaming they been over this before many times we should have won the game after going in front with 15 mins to go we should have closed the door sat tight and hit them as they pushed deeper,but look we lost this game and teams need to win and lose games together and come back much stronger,9 in a row i would love that,i see they are getting much better so when we go there we do not hide like the last two of there home games that they won we must get stuck in and not lose that game we shall see if we still have a team of winners that fear no game you must show that we are men and not a bunch of hasbeens………
What Neil Lennon does not realise is rangers and the SFA will be chapping at the bit to get us early in the cup as they have the best chance of beating us as he will play brown were brawn ain’t any good now days
