Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou has insisted that he and the club are working away to bring in several key positions in the coming weeks.

As quoted by the Daily Record, the 55-year old admitted that we have a lot of work to do to get this squad up to scratch and ready for the up-and-coming competitive fixtures, starting with the Champions League qualifying tie against FC Midtjylland.

“I’m focused on a couple of key areas – working on the players we have here and trying to get players in.

“I guess it will come down to whether players want to be apart of this or not.

“Some of them may have made up their minds already.

I’m not here to plead our case at the moment. If people want to be part of it, I’m happy to include them. “My focus is on those who will stay. It’s a day to day process.

“You’ve got to remember I have only work been working with these players for five or six days.

“The starting XI for Midtjylland will probably only be decided the day before. We still have a lot of work to do.”

Looking at the squad, it is clear that it still needs a lot of work done in order to be ready for the 2021/22 campaign.

Unfortunately, time isn’t really on our side at the moment. So, it is crucial that those in the background are working away to bring players in for Ange to work with.

Certain positions need a lot more work than others, in particular defensive areas of the pitch.

If we don’t get them in on time within the next couple of weeks, it will feel like a repeated mistake is being made ahead of massive CL qualifiers.

  1. He’s obviously working with one hand tied behind his back as it becomes apparent that John ‘know nothing’ Kennedy has been foisted on yet another manager.

    This is ludicrous.

  2. Bring them in ASP any one that now wants to stay and be part must sign a new deal or out they go, let the show begin
