ANGE POSTECOGLOU quickly praised his team after his side emerged from Livingston victorious.

Postecoglou had drilled into his team what he expected from them throughout the week. After poor performances, the manager was keen to make a statement on the pitch.

Angeball was in full flow today. Out of possession, Celtic were aggressive in winning the ball back. When they had the ball, the Bhoys moved up the park, creating space and, most importantly – not being wasteful in possession.

In recent weeks, a criticism of the team is that they have been too passive, passing the ball side to side with no intent. On Sunday, this was not on show.

As quoted by The West Australian, Postecoglou said;

“The players knew it was a challenge. They went about it the right way and didn’t shy away from it.

“The boys who came in brought some energy with James (Forrest) and Tom (Rogic), Niro (Bitton) and Tony Ralston.

“These guys have had three games in a week, so it was important for us to maintain our energy. We set the right tempo and intent from the first minutes.

“We hunted in packs, we won the ball and we didn’t give them a moment’s rest.”

It was a brilliant game of display today from Celtic, and the performance was something that fans witnessed in our better matches this season.

If the team keeps that performance level up, they have a high chance of lifting the SPFL trophy in May.
