Kieran Tierney’s campaign isn’t over just yet. The former Celtic star, now due to make his return to Parkhead this summer, has been named in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for the upcoming June internationals.

The full-back is included in the national team’s plans for the friendly double-header against Iceland and Liechtenstein. The Scots face the Icelanders at Hampden on June 6 before hitting the road three days later.

Tierney is all set for his first stint back in Glasgow since leaving in 2019. He’ll reunite with Brendan Rodgers, the manager who first blooded him in the Celtic first team.

Anthony Ralston is also part of Clarke’s squad, with the right-back enjoying a consistent campaign for the Hoops. However, there’s no room for Luke McCowan, despite his strong finish to the season, and Celtic captain Callum McGregor remains retired from international duty.

Tierney’s inclusion will be welcomed by Celtic fans eager to see the 27-year-old back in the green and white.

With Champions League qualifiers and domestic silverware on the horizon, a fully fit Tierney will be a major asset for Rodgers heading into 2025/26.

It’s still unclear who his deputy will be. Greg Taylor still hasn’t signed a new deal at Parkhead, and his social media activity suggests that it could be over for the player after the Scottish Cup final this weekend.
