Tam McManus has gone on an incredible rant about Celtic and their Glasgow rivals locking away supporters out of their grounds this season.

Celtic have come under criticism for not allowing SPFL fans to come see their team at Celtic Park.

It’s something we’ve been pushing the club to find a solution to. CeltsAreHere.com was told by the club they simply couldn’t accommodate away supporters because of the red zone. Season ticket holders were relocated and getting disabled fans into the most accessible part of the ground meant it wasn’t a viable option.

Tam McManus is fuming that it was allowed to happen and the SPFL happily went along with it. The former Hibs fan is so upset he’s called for Neil Doncaster’s head.

Speaking to RecordSport McManus said: The absence of away fans at Old Firm grounds these past few weeks has been a disgrace and Tuesday’s news that the lockout will now come to end was long overdue.

It needed to be called out just as loudly as the over-the-top outcry to demonise a player for making a challenge for the ball.

But even when these red zones were necessary it was out of order for Rangers and Celtic to refuse away fans so they could accommodate season-ticket holders.

It appears they are just doing what suits them without any reproach.

The red zone is set to be scrapped from the international break onwards. Meaning both Glasgow clubs could and should start to allow away supporters back to the ground.

Bayer Leverkusen fans were the first set of supporters through the door during the Europa League tie last Thursday. UEFA had already relaxed the red zone before the game allowing the German’s to bring a small band of fans with them.

Hopefully, things get back to normality in the SPFL.

  1. Keep it up Tam you will keep getting gigs
on BBC and Radio Hun,as long as you keep
Having a go at celtic hard to believe your a or was a celtic fan if you were being constructive
I wouldn’t mind as we deserve a kick in the arse at times

  2. I don’t understand his logic ‘refuse to allow away fans to accommodate season book holders…appear to be suiting themselves’. So Celtic are out of order for accommodating their own supporters who pay upfront before a ball is kicked for a whole season. Were Celtic suppose to lock people who have already paid to get an away fan in for one game. Aye right. The Celtic supporters are the paying customer here. I haven’t heard anything as thick. There would be an outcry if Celtic took money from away fans and did not allow a Celtic fan who had already paid a seat. Surely that is not what this dumpling is saying?

  3. Its an old falacy say anything bad or contravertial against Celtic and it will get printed, Internationals must be coming up and theyre desperate for stories.

  4. Are these the same Clubs who routinely over charged Celtic Supporters ( and presumably Rangers )in their own Grounds for years in order to make more money out of a larger travelling away Support?

If so where was Tam then?

  5. Hearts especially have no right to criticise. Did they allow Celtic fans in for the first game of the season? No. F****** cry baby hypocrites.

  6. I didn’t hear any outcry when the hun dropped our allocation to 750 then zero for no other reason than spite!
Nothing to do with a global pandemic, nothing to do with season ticket holders, nothing to do with red zones, sheer spite!
But then they, as we all know, are a law unto themselves in scuddish fitbaw and they everyone just staresnat their feet and hums (probably the sash).
