TWITTER is massive in Japan and is the most widely used social media in the country.

It’s difficult to break through on to trends when it comes to Japanese Twitter, but Daizen Maeda managed to do it on Monday night.

Celtic’s profile is still growing within the country, but they have caught the attention of many with their influx of J-League talent over the past six months.

With four Japanese players on our books now, Celtic have a real chance to break through into the Japanese markets. They already have a Japanese shop, a small Japanese team running the website and social media and the club are looking at more ways to cultivate a following.

The club will be delighted to know Daizen made it onto the trending topics in Japan – not quite the top ten, but it’s only a matter of time.

It took just four minutes into his Celtic career for Maeda to score his first goal for the club. Fans are already delighted with what they see and will be hoping the striker can help fill the gap Kyogo has left while he’s out injured.

It’s a great start and we can’t wait to see what else he can do.
