SCOTT BROWN has admitted the thought of retirement is spurring him on to some of the best form of his life, as the Celtic captain does not want to hang up his boots anytime soon.

Speaking from Dubai, Broony sees some of his friends retiring and at the moment cannot fathom the day when he does the same.

“One day I could be training with the lads and the next day it’s the end and you’re retired.

“The hardest thing will be not being in a dressing room with twenty lads, having the banter at training and losing a winning mentality.

“For now I’ll enjoy every moment and play with a smile on my face because I know it might not last that long.

Under Brendan Rodgers, the 32-year-old has been in the form of his life and even when the team have gone through a bad patch Scott has been a standout.

He spurs the team on and makes sure nobody hides. When Scott does retire, it will be a very hard task replacing him
