It has been confirmed this evening that Celtic will face off against Hungarian Champions Ferencvaros, in the second round of Champions League qualifying.

Ferencvaros saw off Swedish champions Djurgarden to set up a tie against the Hoops defeating them 2-0.

Dangerman Tokmac Nguen was able to grab both goals. The first of which being a brilliant strike from long-range which found the back of the net. The wingers second goal was much more of a strikers finish, latching onto a through ball and tucking the ball home.

The Hungarians like to keep the ball and play out from the back, going short from goal-kicks, similar to Celtic. At times, they pressed well especially high up the pitch, which was seen in the build up to the first goal.

Watching Ferencvaros, this Celtic side shouldn’t have too much to worry about and should have more than enough quality to progress. Of course we must not get complacent though, as anything can happen in a one-legged affair and I am sure Neil Lennon will be making this clear to the squad of players if they did not already know.

The Bhoys started their European journey off for the season by defeating Icelandic side KR Reykjavik 6-0 last night.

The tie is expected to be played at Celtic Park next week, but this has still to be confirmed due to any travel restrictions that the clubs may face.
