Celtic’s rarely-seen Head of Football Operations, Paul Tisdale, has “surprised” many inside the club by suddenly stepping into the spotlight and delivering a presentation to the club’s academy players for the first time.

Tisdale gathered members of the B team, Under-19s and even some Under-17s for a session outlining exactly what Brendan Rodgers expects from his first-team stars and how youngsters can climb the ladder to reach that level.
The Celtic Way reports that this came as a surprise because Tisdale has barely been spotted around the youth setup since taking the job. Apart from attending the B team’s Glasgow Cup final defeat to Rangers last season, he’s been almost invisible at academy games and training sessions.
The timing of his sudden appearance is also interesting. It comes just weeks after fan groups met with club chiefs, who insisted communication and visibility from senior football figures — including Tisdale — were up to scratch. The club pointed to an example of the so-called Football Doctor attending a fan forum and presenting a short presentation.
Many now see this unexpected academy visit as a sign the club is trying to answer growing calls for more transparency and presence from those running the football side at Parkhead.
