Celtic have responded to the Green Brigade’s recent criticism regarding ticketing for the upcoming League Cup semi-final at Hampden.

The ultras group had claimed the club was engaging in “legalised ticket touting” by turning standard tickets into high-priced hospitality packages, accusing Celtic of exploiting fan demand and creating division among the support.

They argued that the sale of hospitality tickets priced between £150 and £300, instead of distributing them as regular match tickets, reflected a growing detachment between the club and its fans. This, they said, was particularly galling given Celtic’s long-standing ticketing issues, where loyal season ticket holders often miss out on cup allocations due to oversubscription.

In response, Celtic, via Supporter Liaison Officer John Paul Taylor, clarified that there has been no increase in hospitality ticket numbers for the semi-final. Correcting what was written in the Celtic Star, Taylor said: “The club do sell Corporate Packages, which they have done since 1995. The number hasn’t changed in recent seasons and hasn’t increased for the forthcoming Semi Final.”

While the statement rebuffs claims of a ticketing change, it won’t fully settle fan concerns.

The frustration runs deeper, touching on issues of transparency, pricing and what many supporters feel is an increasingly commercialised approach to the fan experience at big matches.

With the way football is going, the reality is that these hospitality tickets for big matches, like a derby semi-final, are here to stay.

  1. You cost Celtic more in fines so what’s your answer to that if someone light a flare or fireworks next to you think the fans with ling disease police your stadium then start entering grown up debates stop acting like spoilt brats March through towns if you honestly think you are not doing anything that intimidates young and old why the face covering just like driving round neighbourhoods late at night noisy bikes show your face no one will take you serious only media to embarrass Celtic football club who trusted you to act like grown ups and gave you a platform but you have thrown it back in there faces and 50,000 decent Celtic supporters letting anachry into your our Club shame on use

  2. I smell SHITE on this response from the suits but then again I never expected anything less from these Shylocks.
I know, for a fact, that there are two season ticket holders who sit in front of me at Paradise who paid £150 each for a seat ,TRACKSIDE,behind the goalposts at the recent Aberdeen Cup final.
Don’t they realise we have anecdotal proof that this is going on in plain sight and I would bet there are more fans than myself who could verify this ?

  3. I never thought I’d see the day when Celtic supporters act like the spoiled entitled folk who are more at home down Govan way.
The recent anti Celtic rants about ticketing / merch / “the board” / pyro / etc etc ad nauseam are an embarrassment.
By all means discuss and debate transfer policy in the proper places but otherwise PLEASE GET BEHIND THE TEAM!
    Hail hail

    • How dare you accuse those who want better for the club of not getting behind the team. These guys are the only people in the stadium who do get behind the team.

The rest sit in a stupor, only rousing themselves to complain, boo or leave the stadium with 10 minutes left on the clock.

Wanting Celtic to achieve better, is NOT an embarrassment. Wanting Celtic to reach their potential is NOT an embarrassment.

Sitting and doing nothing and watching us stagnate IS an embarrassment.

      • You really need to grow up my friend! Put your big boy pants on and act like a grown up!
Every REAL Celtic supporter wants what’s best for the club! The difference is some of us are logical enough to step back and look at it from both sides, hear what both sides are saying and figure out what the most likely facts are!
To help strengthen their argument, the groups you refer to have made things up about ticket sales which simply weren’t true!
All this does is show weakness.
Our board state facts, facts that can be proven! Our board have served the club so well we are in the strong financial position we are in! If you really wanted what’s best for the club, you’d be supporting this!
        So HOW DARE YOU!
Get you big boy pants on and GROW UP
We can still bridge the gap on the current league leaders and win the league.
Start supporting your club, not your protest group!

        • You think by capitalising words its makes you a better fan than me?

Seeing as you are such a huge fan of our board, let me ask you this.

How much have the board cost our club with their parsimonious attitude to champions league qualifying over the past decade?

A conservative estimate would be around £100m, so don’t dare they and lecture me about how great the board are.

We pay Nicolson the guts of £850k per year to sit and ignore the genuine concerns of our fan base.

So let me suggest that you put on your tenna for men pants and start asking questions of how and why we constantly fail to get through qualifiers; why, despite the manager crying out for funds, we failed to strengthen an already weakened squad; why there is little to no improvements to our stadium?

We are stagnating. We have a board that is crying out for fresh thinking.

Wake up before it is too late
