After two trials and a lot of waiting around it looks like Celtic will capture the signing of Derry City player Michael Duffy.

After impressing in two of his trials Michael thought that Celtic had decided to pass on him but is said to be delighted that a bid has been made and accepted.

The Derry City Chairman confirmed this earlier tonight.

“We have agreed a deal with Celtic for Michael Duffy,” said Sean Barrett

“We thought it was dead in the water, then Celtic contacted at us to say they wanted to sign him.

Tonight he was thrashing out a deal with Celtic but it looks like the deal is just about done.

Duffy’s arrival should kick off deadline day tomorrow at Celtic Park with speculation that there might be a couple in before tomorrow night with Stuart Armstrong and Gary MacKay Steven still wanted in this window by Deila.
