Vinicius Souza is a man with options, but having too many options may be the reason Celtic pull out of the race for the Brazilian.

There’s a definite interest from the Hoops but Ange and the club have made it clear they can’t wait until the further ebbs of the transfer window for an answer.

The Celtic manager has always maintained the club don’t deal in main targets, they identify a position they want filled and then scout players who could fit the role.

While Souza is wanted, the Hoops want as settled a squad as possible heading into the new season which begins at the end of July.

Anthony Joseph confirmed PSV haven’t stolen a march on anyone in the race for the defensive midfielder but the Souza camp is still mulling over things.

Celtic have Callum McGregor in the sitting role at the moment. Ange would clearly like to push Callum further forward at times and believes a defensive midfielder is the key for the Champions League.

Celtic sell themselves this season with group stage Champions League football – if it’s not enough for the Lommel player then we move on.
