Celtic have tonight been linked with a move for centre forward Mohanad Ali with a journalist in the Middle East claiming the player was close to signing for the Hoops.

Currently playing for Al Duhail in Iraq, this link has come out of nowhere.

Ali, 19, has played 28 games for his country scoring 14 goals in the process.

There’s nothing else to substantiate this claim at the moment and it could all just be conjecture. It’s always worth keeping an eye on.

Celtic were rumoured to be looking for another young striker and this would certainly be in that demographic.

If Celtic are really credited with an interest in the striker it would appear the club are casting their net far and wide looking for top young talent.

We’ll be watching this one develop, if there’s anything in it, Neil Lennon will likely show his hand over the next few days.

  1. A project, a project, our title for a project.
Fair enough as a futute talent, but the title challenge is here and now. Let’s be hearing about the ready for the 1st team talent Neil asked for. This has PL all over it, if true, so buy the guy if he fits the style and if the manager agrees, not if PL thinks he’s a ptential moneyspinner. As The Rat said vis Maryan Sved we have enough wingers, we have enough CFs so what about linking us to thecentre back we may need, not a prospect but a starter. Sometimes PL needs to buy what we need now.
