Celtic are being asked to hang on in their pursuit of centre back Liam Scales.

The Bhoys have been keen on the Irish centre back for quite some time now and it’s expected he will make the move to Glasgow ahead of the August deadline.

However, the club could be made to wait just a little bit longer.

According to Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph, Shamrock Rovers are keen to keep a hold of Scales for their second leg Europa league qualifier next week before allowing him to leave.

Shamrock fell to a 4-2 defeat away to Flora Tallinn on Thursday evening – Scales scoring for his current club in the process. They have a very outside chance of making the Europa League and feel they’d have a better chance of Liam was in the side.

The only issue for Liam and Celtic is the potential for injury. If Celtic are happy to wait then there’s not really any issues otherwise.
