ANGE POSTECOGLOU has confirmed that Celtic are closing in on a double signing ahead of the January transfer window opening in just under two months. The manager hopeful they’ll be in the door before the 1st of January.

The Hoops have been heavily linked to Japanese defender Yuki Kobayashi, with Japanese media reporting that a deal to bring the Vissel Kobe player to Glasgow is completed.

Celtic are also braced for the departure of Josip Juranovic, with a new right-back and striker said to be some of the targets for the upcoming window.

The Celtic manager confirmed that the club has more than one signing lined up leading into the window, reminding fans it’s how he prefers to work, planning ahead without the last-minute rush, although the Australian wouldntbfivukge names. Ange Postecoglou said, [Daily Record]

“It’s fair to say there’s a couple lined up.

“It’s how we’ve done things and how I believe we need to be. It’s how I’m built. I don’t like rushing around last minute. It’s not always the case. Matt O’Riley we did in three days last year.

“We saw an opportunity and moved really quickly. We need to be agile when we need to and when we don’t, we can methodically plan to make sure we get things done. If we can get guys early, once January 1 hits they are already part of this football club.”

Last year, the January signings made the difference for Celtic, with Maeda, Hatate and O’Riley all playing a crucial role in Celtic’s title push. After bedding in further over the summer, the players have been superb again for the Hoops this season, as Celtic look to defend their title.
