GAVIN STRACHAN is being touted to take over at Dundee after it was revealed by the Dens Park club that Mark McGhee’s contract would not be renewed after the side was relegated from the top flight.

The Celtic coach has previously turned down the opportunity to take the head role at clubs down south, but with his Father at the Tayside club, it may be tempting for the Celtic coach to head further north.

Strachan, the son of Gordon Strachan, has come under much criticism in his time at Celtic, especially last season. However, Ange Postecoglou has ensured that his backroom staff have been praised for the side’s success this season.

The Sun stated that Strachan is on a list of potential McGhee replacements.

In all honesty, I don’t see Strachan leaving Celtic to head Dundee in the Championship next season. After Gordon Strachan came under criticism for handing his old pal Mark McGhee the job, it’s unlikely he’ll offer his son the role.

The link will certainly be born out of Gordon being part of the Dundee setup and being heavily involved in the managerial process this season.
