On Tuesday afternoon it was announced by the Scottish National Team that goalkeeping coach Stevie Woods has stepped down from his position in the national team.

Woods joined in 2018 when Alex McLeish was manager of the national team and continued into Steve Clarke’s reign. The 51-year-old worked closely with David Marshall who turned into a national hero after securing Scotland a place in EURO 2020, which would be the first time the Tartan Army would attend a major tournament in 23 years.

Stevie Woods wasn’t the only coach to depart, with Steven Reid also stepping back, in replacement, come Austin MacPhee and Chris Woods will join the coaching team.

The Hoops man was appointed to be Celtic’s goalkeeping coach in 2007 when Celtic were under Gordon Strachan’s management also. Woodsy, as known by some, has worked under some great managers and developed some top goalkeepers and will continue to work with Celtic and Ange Postecoglou.

  1. No way is Jimmy Crankie from a protestant school in Ayrshire is going to do anything against sevco or their players (with the help of the SPFL) or their fans (with the help of the polis). She’ll be saving it all up for the next Glasgow Derby at Paradise. What is the point of independence if we just substitute one bigoted/racist protestant regime for another one. COYBIG and I will be voting green from now on. They are the only party who really cares about a fair and equal society and they are the only party that really cares about our planet.

  2. Sorry for any confusion. I thought I was leaving this reply on another article about the fact that Jimmy Crankie would never do anything to upset sevco and the farcical behaviour of sevco ltd over ticket allocations.

  3. Anybody who calls Nicola Sturgeon Jimmy Cranky seems to me of child like behavior, bet he was all excited when he saw his comment, real grown ups would show respect for first minister.
