CELTIC have today agreed the purchase of land outside Celtic Park from Glasgow City council.
We reported earlier this week, GCC was recommending the sale go through because it was going to be used for a disabled car park outside Celtic Park.
GCC made it clear the sale would only be approved on the grounds of the car park being built and could not be used for anything else without prior written consent.
The club have made great strides in redeveloping the outside of Celtic Park in the past 10-15 years. It’s almost unrecognisable from the 90s.
This purchase won’t be anything flashy but it will make a massive difference to disabled supporters getting to and from the stadium on busy match days. The club should be commended for taking steps to ensure anybody who wants to go to the games can do so with relative ease.
We look forward to it being implemented.
