It has been rumoured for some time that Celtic got well compensated for losing Brendan Rodgers last February to the EPL. The fee rumoured was said to be in the region of 9m, which wasn’t too far wide of the mark after the club confirmed today in their annual report an £8.8m payday for their ex-manager.

Some Celtic fans won’t forgive Rodgers for walking away from the chance of completing history with Celtic and chasing money down south. Now that the dust has settled it looks like everything has worked out for the best. Celtic have £8.8m in the bank and Neil Lennon has his side playing some seriously exciting attacking football.

It might stick in your throat to say it but Rodgers has completely turned things around at Leicester so far. They are sitting 3rd in the Premier League and could easily finish in a Champions League spot come to the end of the season.

Neil Lennon has brought some fantastic talent to Celtic Football Club this season, things had gone flat with Rodgers, the motivation had gone from his first-team stars, looking back the change has worked out for everyone.
