Celtic have finally landed their striker.
The club confirmed on Thursday afternoon that Tomas Cvancara has joined on loan until the end of the season, bringing an end to a long and increasingly uncomfortable search for a recognised number nine. The 25-year-old arrives from Borussia Mönchengladbach, with the final details completed after his arrival in Glasgow earlier this week.
Cvancara spoke to Celtic TV after sealing the move and made no attempt to hide his excitement at the size and stature of the club he is joining.
The new Bhoy said: “It’s a massive honour to sign for this club.
“I am so excited to get started and make my own contribution to the team.
“We have lots of challenges ahead of us and I am ready to get going and do everything I can to meet these and bring success to our brilliant supporters.

The most important detail in the deal sits beyond the headline.
As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Celtic have secured an option to buy clause set at €8 million should they decide to make the move permanent in the summer. That clause shapes how this signing should be judged, offering a clear pathway beyond the end of the season if things fall into place.
Celtic will cover 100 percent of Cvancara’s wages during the loan.
Celtic are short of attacking options, and Cvancara is likely to be thrown straight into contention for Sunday’s trip to Hearts at Tynecastle. Preparation time will be limited, but the circumstances leave little room for a slow introduction.
A win in the capital would pull Celtic firmly back into the title race. A defeat would leave them nine points adrift and potentially slipping to third in the table. Hearts have their own issues, with injuries to Cammy Devlin and Lawrence Shankland, but Tynecastle remains one of the most unforgiving grounds in the league.
Martin O’Neill has already moved to temper expectations. The Celtic manager has been clear that Cvancara is not a quick fix for the club’s attacking problems, but he is hungry and eager to prove himself.
