Celtic’s game against Hearts will now take place on Wednesday 8 March and will kick-off at 19.45 [@CelticFC].

The match was originally scheduled for Saturday 25 February but had to be postponed after the Hoops booked their place in the final of the Viaplay Cup after beating Kilmarnock 2-0.

It will mean that following the final, the players will likely be given some days off as they will again have a free week before taking on St Mirren in Paisley the following weekend.

There was no such room in the fixture calendar last year as Celtic had to take on St Mirren only three days after the final.

Ange Postecoglou’s side currently have a nine point advantage at the top of the SPFL Premiership and by the time they take on the Jambos, there will only be ten league matches remaining and will be hoping to be in a similar sort of position.

Celtic

Both sides have already faced each other twice so far this season and Celtic have came out on top on both occasions having beat Robbie Neilson’s side 2-0 at Celtic Park and 4-3 in a thrilling encounter at Tynecastle when Greg Taylor grabbed the match winner.

Hopefully VAR won’t take centre stage like the previous encounter as Celtic were denied a clear penalty on the weekend that the technology was first introduced to Scottish football.
